THE VERSACE LIFE

Harrods is buying into the Versace way of life - dedicating three windows to showcasing a model of it's latest lifestyle venture, luxury resort Palazzo Versace Dubai. Following in the footsteps of Palazzo Versace Gold Coast, the seven star Dubai resort is as glamorous as one might imagine, boasting 169 private residences and 213 hotel suites - all furnished with an exclusive line of Versace Home Collection products - as well as a day spa, ballroom, Versace boutique, landscaped gardens and a marina.

"The house of Versace is about the ultimate in luxurious living so our collaboration with Sunland Group on Palazzo Versace is a natural extension of our lifestyle brand," says Giancarlo Di Risio, ceo of the Versace Group. "We have vast experience creating the most luxurious interiors, from world-class yachts to private jets, helicopters, and Lamborghini sports cars. Palazzo Versace Dubai is the supreme example of a truly exclusive Versace lifestyle." If a Dubai jaunt isn't on the cards, be sure to check out the Harrods model; one of the windows opens up into the store, so you can step inside and really be a part of action - if only for a moment.

My opinion on the subject...

My only opinion is: I WANT TO GO THERE, I HAVE TO GO, I NEED TO GO.

LACROIX LIVING IN DUBAI

Having cut his teeth designing interiors for Parisian boutique hotels, high-speed trains and even cinemas, Christian Lacroix is taking things up a notch with his next makeover project: a residential tower in a Dubai's Jumeirah suburb. The designer is partnering with Middle Eastern property developer Abyaar for the venture, which will see him create the façade, lobby and luxury interiors of the 38-unit beachside property.

"We approached Lacroix because he is known for his exceptional design skills and theatrical style, both on and off the catwalk," says Abyaar's vice-chairman and managing director, Marzooq Al Rashdan. "This is the start of a long-term partnership that places Abyaar on the luxury development map internationally." Lacroix, meanwhile, is all about the details. "We are working on something special that will tell a Middle Eastern story," he revealed to WGSN. "The interiors will be based on paradox - contemporary and baroque, blending East and West, old and new, inspired by history and folklore."
